Today is Monday, August 13. It’s the first day of the CEOI! Until 9:30 am, we had breakfast at the hotel. After that, we went to the Center of New Technology of University of Warsaw. The style of the building was really modern, and I liked it very much. In the auditorium, there was the opening ceremony. We met the other participants and team leaders from other countries in central Europe. There was also a presentation of the places that had held CEOI before. In Warsaw, it’s the first time. Also the organizers introduced the contest environment.
After we had lunch, we had the practice session, in order to prepare well for the contest and get used to the system. From 4 to 7 pm, we did some sightseeing in Warsaw. We walked through a few parks and it was quite nice with the good weather. That’s it about Monday, and we were all looking forward to the first contest tomorrow!
Mercredi 15.8. (Julian)

Today is Friday, August 17. It’s the last day of the CEOI! After we had breakfast at the hotel we went to the Science Museum of Warsaw. I saw a lot of interesting machines and apparatuses which show many fun facts in science. After visiting the science museum, we went for lunch at a pizza restaurant Piotr recommended. The pizzas were baked in a very original Italien style and they were really delicious. After lunch we went back to the Center of New Technologies, and in the auditorium there was the closing ceremony. The medals were given, sadly no one in our team got medals, but the most important thing is that we all enjoyed the competition, and hopefully next time the Swiss team can get more medals! Everyone of us got a book called “Looking for a challenge?” which is a problem set of all the difficult problems in ACM-ICPC. I guess that’s a bit too hard for us right now.
We had dinner afterwards in the faculty of physics, it’s like a party and it was really good. Now the CEOI in Poland has come to an end. I enjoyed it very much!
Samedi 18.8. (Florian)
Today, exceptionally and so that no participant has to write more reports than the others, I’m going to write the blog entry myself, although I’m one of the leaders. Fortunately, I’ve chosen the best day to do so: since it’s the day of our departure from Warsaw, there is not so much to tell.
This morning, we woke up early to get our taxi at 5:20 am. After our guide Piotr arrived around 5:30, we left with him to the airport. We checked in our baggage and after saying goodbye to Piotr and thanking him for his kindness during our whole stay, we passed the security check, bought our breakfast and headed to our gate. We enjoyed a great sight during the flight thanks to the lack of clouds and finally landed in Zurich around 9:40. We then retrieved our luggage and headed to the train station, where we concluded this awesome week and all went our own ways.
