For the Swiss Science Olympiads, this summer has been a historical success. Apart from many other impressive achievements, the Maths and Economics Olympiads both came home from China with two gold medals. We asked their leaders about the secret to their success - and about the nature of competition.

From July 5 to 12, the International Young Physicists’ Tournament was hosted at ETH Zuric.. We asked one participant who came all the way from India how he experienced the week. Turns out he already had friends in Switzerland and Liechtenstein - thanks to Science Olympiads and similar competitions.
