AZIONE PER IL CERVELLO?

Die Astronomie gehört erst seit zwei Jahren zu den Wissenschafts-Olympiaden und ist kein Schulfach. Dennoch haben Schweizer Talente dieses Jahr an der Internationalen Astronomie-Olympiade erstmals Medaillen gewonnen. Wie haben sie sich vorbereitet? Ein Besuch beim Training im Sommer.

Vom 25. September bis 5. Oktober fand in Hanoi, Vietnam, die Internationale Astronomie-Olympiade statt. 312 Jugendliche aus 64 Ländern analysierten Schwarze Löcher und blickten durchs Teleskop. Die Schweiz nimmt erst seit 2024 am Wettbewerb teil und hat es nun erstmals aufs Podest geschafft.

An der Internationalen Informatik-Olympiade (IOI) hat die Schweizer Delegation mit vier Medaillen ihr bisher bestes Resultat erreicht. Der Wettbewerb fand vom 9. bis 16. August in Taschkent statt und versammelte 375 Jugendliche aus 92 Ländern.

For the Swiss Science Olympiads, this summer has been a historical success. Apart from many other impressive achievements, the Maths and Economics Olympiads both came home from China with two gold medals. We asked their leaders about the secret to their success - and about the nature of competition.

From July 5 to 12, the International Young Physicists’ Tournament was hosted at ETH Zuric.. We asked one participant who came all the way from India how he experienced the week. Turns out he already had friends in Switzerland and Liechtenstein - thanks to Science Olympiads and similar competitions.
