In Bulgarien fand vom 27. Juni bis 3. Juli die Europäische Geographie-Olympiade statt. Rund 100 Jugendliche aus 13 Ländern stellten ihr Wissen unter Beweis - unter anderem zum Bergsturz von Blatten. Für die zwei Schweizer Teilnehmer diente die Teilnahme auch als Vorbereitung auf die iGeo im August.

Roboter, die Konzertbühnen einrichten und Mosaike restaurieren? Das gab es am 20. Juni bei der World Robot Olympiad Schweiz - zumindest im Kleinformat, auf einem Spielfeld. Rund 70 Teams nahmen in Hausen (AG) am Finale der Robotik-Olympiade für Kinder und Jugendliche teil.

Die Europäische Physik-Olympiade versammelte vom 12. bis 16. Juni fast 200 junge Talente im schwedischen Göteborg. Das fünfköpfige Schweizer Team genoss den Austausch mit Gleichgesinnten aus über 40 Ländern.

The Swiss Astronomy Olympiad is launching the Swiss CanSat competition for high school students in collaboration with ESA. Working in teams, participants will design and build a fully functional mini-satellite that fits inside a standard soft drink can.
