Wer steckt hinter den Vereinen?

Daniel Graf war von 2011 bis 2016 Präsident der Informatik-Olympiade. Wir stellen Ihnen den ETH-Doktoranden im Steckbrief vor.

Meine Gedanken am Tag nach den Internationalen Olympiaden:

So viele talentierte, junge Leute auf einem Haufen ist einfach immer wieder toll!

Warum ich mich ehrenamtlich engagiere:

Weil es mir grosse Freude macht, meine Begeisterung für Programmieraufgaben an junge Schülerinnen und Schüler weiterzugeben.

Meine Lieblingsaufgabe:

Die Präsentation an der Medaillenfeier mag ich besonders. Den Gästen, Partnern und Eltern zu zeigen, was unsere Finalisten alles geleistet haben und welch komplexe Aufgaben sie nun lösen können: Das mache ich immer sehr, sehr gerne.

Eine Erinnerung an meine eigene Olympiaden-Teilnahme:

Als ich 2009 an der IOI in Bulgarien war, fand die Medaillenfeier in einem römischen Theater statt. Da kam ich mir vor wie ein „richtiger“ Olympionike!

Der Wert meiner Olympiade:

Ich glaube, die Informatik-Olympiade bietet eine einzigartige Austauschmöglichkeit. Meine Studienwahl wurde massgeblich von Gesprächen mit anderen Teilnehmern und den Organisatoren geprägt. Ich denke, ich verdanke der Olympiade einen Wissensvorsprung und eine Begeisterung für mein Fach. Davon profitiere ich bis heute täglich!
